And the Lord said to them, “Now listen to what I say: “If there were prophets among you, I, the Lord, would reveal myself in visions. I would speak to them in dreams.” (Numbers 12:6)

There are many records of God speaking to His people in dreams and visions. God gave them; he interprets them. They connect God’s Spirit to our spirit, giving revelation and direction. Yea! We are in partnership to bring heaven to earth.

Our inner man was created for this intuitive relationship. We actually hunger for communication with the spirit realm.

Into this hunger came television, internet, cell phones—all communicating from an unseen realm. Although we know them as physical devices of communication and know the visuals and messages are through man, we must realize they are touching the God-spot in children.

Into the innate hunger for spiritual communication has come the realm of fantasy—big time. And the majority of the fantasy is dark. “A three-year National Television Study, reported by the AAP, found that children’s shows had the most violence of all television programming. Statistics read that some cartoons average twenty acts of violence in one hour, and that by the age of 18 children will have seen 16,000 simulated murders and 200,000 acts of violence on television.”  http://www.livestrong.com/article/221006-how-tv-violence-affects-kids/

These visuals affect our children in the same way that God’s dreams affect His people. They subtly create attitudes and attitudes are the expression of faith. We either believe life is good (G_od) or we expect pain. And this expectation of pain and sorrow can come second hand by playing with or watching negative fantasy. We are not objective when we view a screen; we are allowing what we see to enter and affect us.  “Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when it is unhealthy, your body is filled with darkness. (Luke 11:34 NLT)

Dreams and visions from God are good and healthy. Fantasy is escaping reality by living in unreal adventures.  Some of these fantasies are designed to fill us with darkness. It is extremely important that our children begin to recognize what goes on inside their emotions. Every emotion (feeling) is a message without words: “Life is good. God is in control.” Or “Life is unstable. I must be controlling.” They will have whatsoever they expect. (Mark 11:23)
